At Bogazici University students may participate in any sports activities in which they are interested. Through the Physical Education Service Department students may take lessons in any sports area and can even earn certificates by completing all courses in specific subjects.

Within the structure of the University, the Sport's Committee's basic goal is to coordinate and organize the Bogazici University Sports Festival, which takes place at the end of each academic year. Throughout the year the Sports'Committee chooses athletes from among the student body , in the with this event in mind. The Committee is also involved in sports activities throughout the academic year.

Sports at the University:

Aerobics, Aikido, American Football, Badminton, Basitball, Crew, Cycling, Fencing, Gymnastics, Handball, Judo, Karate, Skiing, Sailing, Soccer, Step Aerobics, Swimming, Table Tennis, Taekwan-do, Track and Field, Water Polo, Triathlon, and Volleybol.

Sports Facilities

Ucaksavar Sport Complex

Stadium: 100x90 m2 grass soccer field (ext : 7021)

Track: 400 m 6-laned, tartan track. The soccer field and track are open to student use outside of school team practice sessions and Physical Education lessons.

Fitness Center : Students can make use of the 300 m2 fitness center, with its 30 fitness machines, located under the stadium, by paying a normal fee and obtaining an access card from the ÖSH Accounting Office. (ext : 7021)

Sports Salon: Located next to the stadium, across from the Super Dorm, the Sports Salon offers a 50x40m2 parquet wood floor used for the practice sessions of the the University's basketball, volleyball, handball, badminton, table school teams, and sports lessons, as well as by students. Ergo-Room: This space, within the Sport Salon, features 7 rowing ergometers for use by members of the University's crew team.

South Campus Sport Complex

Dodge Gym : This sports salon, is used for sports such as basketball, volleyball is open to students after 17:00.(ext : 4545)

Multi-Purpose Room : Located under Dodge Gym, this facility offers a multi-purpose sports salon where step aerobics and Far Eastern sports are practiced.

Tennis Courts
Reservations for the tennis courts can be made at the Reservations Office at tha entrance to Dodge Gym(ext : 4545)

Bebek Court : A concrete court located 100m inside the Bebek Gate.

Bubble Court : At the edge of the Girl's Dorm on the South Campus, this court is a covered court with a synthetic surface.

South Court : Near the Administrative Sciences building, this concrete surfaced court is used for tennis and basketball.

Open Air Basketball Court
Open air basketball courts are located behind the I. Girl's Dormitory, behind the North Student Dormitories, and behind the Economics and Administrative Sciences Faculty building.

Astroturf Soccer Field
Located on tha Rumelihisar Campus, the synthetic surface soccer field is open from 9.00 - 23.00 for a fee. Discount rates for students. (ext : 6790)

Swimming Pool
Located just inside the Bebek Gate, 50x14m2, five-laned open air swimming pool is open from 15 May - 1 October to Bogazici University staff and students. Student I.D. and fee are required at entrance.
